Warranty

Thank you for your interest in my unique jewelry pieces! I would like to inform you that I cannot generally offer a warranty on my jewelry. Many of my items are one-of-a-kind creations, and the materials used are not always available in sufficient quantity or quality to ensure re-supply.

Additionally, it can be challenging to clearly determine whether a piece of jewelry has been damaged during wear or if the damage occurred by chance. These factors make it difficult to provide a general warranty for each item.

Nevertheless, it is important to me that you enjoy my jewelry. I warmly invite you to contact me if you have any questions or if there is an issue with your piece. Together, we can surely find a solution that satisfies you. Your satisfaction is my priority!

Shipping

All items are sent from Switzerland by Swiss Post.

You will be notified by E-Mail as soon as I have dispatched your order. My aim is to send all parcels within one working day (Monday to Friday). But please don’t be angry with me if it sometimes takes 3 working days 🙂.

As soon as your order has been sent by me, you can track the shipment status on the Swiss Post website if you selected “Registered mail” or “Parcel with shipment tracking” during the ordering process.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to track consignments sent as a “letter”.

The shipping costs can be calculated on the Swiss Post website.
They are automatically added during the ordering process.

Product Care

Gold-plated metals are generally water-resistant, meaning they can withstand exposure to the elements and are not immediately damaged by contact with water. This makes them a fantastic choice for everyday jewelry, as you can wear them while washing your hands or in humid environments without too much worry.

Additionally, the gemstones and fabrics that are part of the jewelry are also water-resistant. However, it’s important to note that contact with water can affect their beauty and lifespan more quickly. Constant exposure can lead to discoloration or dullness, which may detract from their overall appearance.

Moreover, the gold layer can wear away over time due to constant friction, such as against clothing or other surfaces. To extend the lifespan of your gold-plated jewelry and maintain its beauty, we recommend protecting it from intense friction and prolonged exposure to water. Specifically, wearing your jewelry in saltwater and chlorinated water (like pools or hot tubs) is strongly discouraged, as these environments can significantly accelerate wear and damage. By taking these precautions, you can ensure that your piece continues to shine and bring you joy for a long time.

Difference between Gold-Plated Silver and Gold-Plated Metal

Gold-plated silver and gold-plated metal (such as brass) are two different types of jewelry materials that are enhanced with a thin layer of gold. The main difference lies in the base material used.

Gold-plated silver is made from sterling silver (925 silver) that is coated with a layer of gold. This combination not only gives the jewelry piece the appearance of real gold but also offers the quality and durability of silver. Silver is a noble metal that is less prone to oxidation compared to other metals. This means that gold-plated silver jewelry generally has a longer lifespan and is less susceptible to tarnishing when properly cared for.

Gold-plated metal, such as brass, refers to a gold coating applied to a less noble metal. Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc and does not have the same corrosion resistance as silver. While gold-plated brass can provide an attractive golden color, it is more prone to wear, discoloration, and oxidation compared to gold-plated silver.

Difference between “Gold-Plated” and “Gold-Filled”

The terms “gold-plated” and “gold-filled” are often confused, but they refer to different processes and thicknesses of gold application.

  • “Gold-plated” is a general term that indicates an object has been coated with a thin layer of gold. This layer can be applied using various methods, including electroplating or applying a gold alloy. Typically, gold plating is relatively thin, which means that it can wear off over time, especially with frequent use.

  • “Gold-filled” refers to a method where a thicker layer of gold is mechanically bonded to a base metal. Gold-filled jewelry must contain at least 5% of its total weight in gold, making it significantly more durable than gold-plated items. Because of this thicker layer, gold-filled pieces can withstand more wear and are less likely to tarnish or wear away compared to gold-plated jewelry.

In Switzerland, a federally assigned responsibility mark is required for putting precious metals into circulation, ensuring that all products meet the strict standards of the Precious Metals Control Act. FineLine holds the official responsibility mark TYA. All of my jewelry pieces made from precious metals are carefully inspected and stamped according to legal requirements to guarantee the highest quality and transparency for our customers. If the jewelry pieces are not made from precious metals, they are clearly labeled as such.
